The purpose of underdrive gears is to multiply the torque delivered by the engine and transmission. Gears can be thought of as complex levers. In other words, they provide a mechanical advantage that multiplies work—in this case, torque—to help the engine’s power move the vehicle. Lower gears are like a longer lever: They provide more mechanical advantage. Higher gears are like a shorter lever: They provide less mechanical advantage. It’s similar to when you use a long breaker bar instead of a short ratchet handle to remove tight lug nuts. Just like a long bar puts more torque on a lug nut, lower drive gears provide more torque to the wheels.
The heavy bikes benefit most from this part, especially those running the VM-1 cam profiles as they give up a little bottom end TQ for the upper end HP increase. RPMs will increase with this pulley (EX: 3000 is now approx 3210 in 6th gear)

Everything is good about this pulley.

It not only makes 6th gear more useable on thes bikes it makes every gear more usable. Puts more torque to the ground at all Rpms and all Speeds. Such an awesome product it was the first thing I swapped over from my Vegas to my cross country. I 100% reccomend this product.

I really like it! I ride a cross country with cams and this brought me back to stump pulling, low rpm I wanted. When I buy another 6 speed vic this will be the absolute first on my list of goodies

this pulley elliminates the low rpm lug that these bikes have.
